Anamae is 22 years old, and serves as leader of the Sponsorship team for all Bukang Liwayway communities.
Because only one BL scholarship is given per household, she was not eligible to apply for sponsorship as a child. That did not stop her from joining BL discipleship groups and youth camps, and eventually serving as a student leader. "It has always been my passion to serve in BL," she says. That same passion fuels her to make the three-hour journey from her home in Antipolo to Marilao, Bulacan, where she does administrative work and disciples youth leaders.
Bearing the youths' burdens can be emotionally challenging for her. She also shoulders the weight of being the breadwinner in her family on a faith-based income. But with courage and compassion, she soldiers on as an inspiration to other young believers. Her dream? To eventually further her studies in the field of social work to boost her ministry.
All staff in Dawn for the Poor live by faith, depending on support that comes into the workers' fund every month. Each staff needs USD 300-600 monthly to cover living costs and take care of their households. Any contribution, no matter how small, goes a long way to help them continue serving in ministry.
