Gerald was only ten years old when his mother passed away. Putting away playtime, he had to learn how to cook, clean and sew. Finishing school seemed impossible until he was accepted into Bukang Liwayway's scholarship program. More than getting an education, he also accepted Jesus and experienced spiritual transformation.
As a staff, Gerald managed the scholars in Welfareville, where he grew up in. He is currently fulfilling a three-month stint in Calapan as sponsorship coordinator for that area.
All staff in Dawn for the Poor live by faith, depending on support that comes into the workers' fund every month. Each staff needs USD 300-600 monthly to cover living costs and take care of their households. Any contribution, no matter how small, goes a long way to help them continue serving in ministry.
